TBC Racing’s learn to row summer camp teaches young athletes the basics of the sport while introducing them to the DC waterfront. Four two week sessions available, for ages 12+.
Description
Everyone should have the opportunity to experience the great sport of rowing. Our summer camps are the perfect time for your middle-schooler to try his/her hand at rowing before they decide whether they want to pursue the sport in high-school.
Where: @Thompson’s Boat Center, 2900 Virginia Ave, Washington, DC 20037
Who:
Ages: 12+ (recommended for rising 7th graders through rising 10th graders)
Experience: This is a beginner rowing experience. It is appropriate for those that have never rowed before or kids who have only rowed at a summer camp. Athletes who have completed a season with a competitive team should sign up for the Summer Competitive Team.
Sessions:
- Monday June 17- Friday June 28
- Monday July 1 – Friday July 12
- Monday July 15- Friday July 26
- Monday July 29 – Friday August 9
Sample Daily Schedules (subject to change based on weather):
8:45 – 9:00 – Arrival@Thompson’s Boat Center
9:00- 9:30 – Intro activity and stretching
9:-30- 11:30 – Rowing session I
11:30-12:30 – Lunch
12:30 – 1:00- Land activity
1:00- 2:30 – Rowing session II
2:30 – 3:00 – Wrap up discussions & Activity
3:00- 3:15 – Dismissal @Thompson’s Boat Center
