High Performance:  Program size: 18-20.  Our most competitive level, for the top junior athletes of any age, focusing on high level training and racing regimes.  Competitions include local racing, Head of the Schuylkill and the Head of the Charles Regattas.  At this advanced level, athletes must commit up front to practice and regatta attendance.

U19 Select:                Program size: 18-20.  Our traditional competitive level, perfect for returning high school aged, varsity level rowers .  Program goals will increase your technical expertise and overall fitness as well as prepare athletes for a demanding winter and spring training plan.  Competitions include local racing, Head of the James and the Head of the Schuylkill.

U17 Select:                Program size: 18-20.  Our traditional competitive level, perfect for experienced returning rowers, who do not turn 17 in this calendar year (still 16 or younger on Dec 31)  Program goals will increase your technical expertise and overall fitness while introducing or expanding young athletes understanding of how to compete in a higher level program.   In addition, our Select U17 will prepare athletes for a demanding winter and spring training plan.  Competitions include local racing, Head of the James and the Head of the Schuylkill.

Developmental:     Program size: open.  Our level for developing rowers and coxswains, perfect for rowers returning from a novice year experience or returning varsity athletes looking for a technical focus to improve their rowing stroke.  Program goals will increase your technical expertise and overall fitness, with a focus on stroke mechanics and understanding of physical work required at a varsity level.  Competitions include: Head of the Potomac, Occoquan Chase and the Head of the Occoquan

Selection Process: We will have an evaluation period from September 5th – September 16th.  This will include on-the-water evaluations of skill and strength as well as erg testing.  On September 16th, athletes will be separated into the groups above, along with a dedicated coaching staff for each group, for the remainder of the season.  This selection process will allow us to provide consistent and dedicated training at every level.  Athletes may move between the groups in certain cases mid-season.
