Summer Foundations Learn to Row Program

Curious about rowing or coxing? Our Foundations Learn to Row Program is the perfect place to start.

Designed specifically for athletes entering high school in the fall (or older), this 3-week program in July introduces new rowers to the sport in a fun, welcoming, and supportive environment. Practices run 9:30–11:30 AM, giving athletes a great way to stay active, build confidence, and try something new over the summer.

This program is for true beginners only—no prior rowing experience is needed. In fact, it is intended only for athletes who have never rowed before. Participants will learn the fundamentals of rowing, including basic technique, boat handling, teamwork, and water safety, while getting a feel for what makes the sport so exciting.

Whether your athlete is looking to explore a new sport, meet new friends, or build skills before the school year begins, this program is a great introduction to rowing.

Program Highlights:

  • 3 weeks – June 29th – July 17th (note: as long as the river is open we will have practice on July 3rd)

  • 9:30 – 11:30 AM

  • Open to athletes entering high school in the fall or current high school students

  • For beginners only — no prior rowing experience

  • Learn rowing basics in a fun and encouraging setting
